TURBO METRICS was founded in 1996 to develop a portable, electronic APU tester. We wanted to fill a need in the aviation industry for a portable test set that could be brought to the flight line and quickly connected to an engine while still in the aircraft, to trouble shoot engine problems. We wanted an alternative to the usual practice of swapping parts until the problem was found, if you got lucky. If not, you replaced the engine, if you had a spare.
After consulting with engineers and mechanics at major airlines and MROs in the United States and Japan, we devised a solid state, digital electronic tester that is quickly set up, easy to use, and capable of zeroing in on any engine problem.
